Randomized, placebo-controlled study

Satiereal® is a novel extract of saffron stigma that was tested in a randomized, placebo-controlled study to determine whether it could combat snacking and enhance satiety (and thus contribute to healthy weight management) in a group of otherwise-healthy, mildly overweight women. 

At the beginning of the study, all participants matched each other closely in terms of age, body weight and reported snacking habits. This double-blind study evaluated Satiereal’s® effect on body weight changes over an eight-week period, and the results were very encouraging. 

Weight loss in just eight weeks

The women in the study recorded their experiences in a nutrition diary. They consumed either Satiereal® or a matching placebo twice a day. Caloric intake was left unrestricted during the study. The Satiereal® group reported significantly lower snacking frequency after just 8 weeks of supplementation. Weight loss was also better than the placebo group.
